Bigger Front Tires?
Watching Best Motoring and some other stuff like this, i´ve seen that many japanese tuners use bigger front than rear tires...
Is it a good idea to go that way? and should only the tire be bigger or the rim too?

Re: Bigger Front Tires? (Drag-On)
bigger tire size (diameter) will give you a little higher top end, and a higher final drive ratio. basically, you will accelerate slightly slower, but you will be able to get a higher top speed. also, beware this puts off the speedo if you have to drive it on the street.

Re: (quik sol)
work wheels makes a 7.5 wide wheel so do some others. and on the best motoring videos they are AWD or rwd cars and so they run wider tires up front because runing a lil tire in the back lets the *** end break loose easier. the side wall looks like this / \ (thats extrem but you get the idea) and its easier for the tires to break loose like the the side wall doesn't play that much of a factor when it side wall is at a angle like that, of course this is for drift cars only this might be a different take on it though

Many National-level autocrossers stagger the tire sizes; I believe this is to allow for more rotation of the rear while using super-sticky R-compounds.
For example, Shawn Mundis is using 225 Hoosier A3S03 in front and 205 Hoosier A3S03 in the rear on his D-Stock ITR. Since it is D-Stock, he has to use the stock-sized 15x6 wheels in both front and rear.
This is not necessary on street tires.

There are 4x100 13x8s everywhere, ask around in the autocross forum.
Diamond makes some very inexpensive 13x8 steelies, see here. Or if you want to spend a fortune, you can get a set of aluminum 13s, such as Lenso VPD 13x7.5, or the incredibly expensive Panasport C8 3-piece 13x8. There are several other options out there too, from various JDM wheel makers.

take a wild guess who he got the idea (and his tires ) from?

yes, you can get them in 8", but not 8.5". 8" is the widest 15 you can get in a te37. after waiting 7+ months for them, i bought keizers. from the time i hung up, to the time they were on my car was a total of 2 weeks... can't beat that.

Re: Bigger Front Tires? (Drag-On)
I ran 225 Victoracers front, and 205 Victoracers rear this last weekend at Gingerman. It allowed for grip from the Rcompounds but still allowed me to force the rear of the car out.
Was fun
Wouldnt recommend it for the street though, its a track setup.

Re: Bigger Front Tires? (Drag-On)
i just picked up some 3 spoke panther rims off ebay for 110 shipped. their 16x7.5 came off a civic so imhopping the offset is 45+ im really hoping its over 50 so i can run some 215/40/16 tires. we will see.
i have no idea who makes panther rims, but my buddy has the same set i just bought on his 240sx, only differance is his has both 4x100 and 4x114 and mine just has the 4x11. might help ya out.
