Bigger AC condenser in a 96-00 Civic for those 110+ degree days
To start this off, my AC on my 97 Civic DX is fine, On 80-100 degree days it blows ice cold to the point where you eventually have to turn it down because it gets too cold..Been that way since I bought the car 3 years ago. System is, and has been fully charged. Only problem is I live in Sacramento Cali and in the summer it gets to ~114 degrees in the month of July. After about 105 degrees, the AC blows cool, but not COLD. This is especially noticeable driving around in the city. The AC condenser fan works perfect.
I know for a fact that it's the condenser that is too small because when I am on the highway, not matter what the temperature (100-115 degrees), if I drive for a good 15 minutes, the ac blows ice cold and stays that way. That is because the condenser gets plenty of air on the highway.
I know it's because the condenser is small on this car that I can't get it to blow cold on 110 degree days.
This isn't a super need, but I was wondering if someone successfully used a larger AC condenser on their Civic. Maybe even a better fan? If anybody has anything to share that would be great.

Not to thread Jack, but i have been pondering the idea of running a DC integra A/C condensor in an EK. just curious if anyone has done it and what A/C line did they use.
