Idiot, if u cant help then dont post.
Some people do it the ghetto way and just fill up the moulding indentation with bondo. That will end up craking eventually. The best way is probably cutting sheet metal to the shape of the moulding indentation and welding it on.

Yes, this is the best way IMO to do it. You can get it to match the rest of the door perfectly. And another thing, like Ruka already said; if you don't have helpful to say, don't post. Thanks.

one dont do that that to a innocent honda my opinion is it looks like **** second i do paint and body and the way i do it is grind all of the inside indention were the molding goes to were it is bare metal and grind around the indention then fill with bondo and sand until straight and smooth so far my clients have been real pleased and no it wont crack

Why do you say that? It's his car, let him do what he wants with it.

Dont completely weld the sheet metal you will warp your doors with the intense heat. Just tack it every other inch or so and bondo it, Be sure to use sealer after that bondo.

Re: best way to shave side moldings? (La-quiete)
IMHO I would say to at least fill half with some sort of sheet metal so that the WHOLE thing isn't Bondo. The least amount of bondo the better. I shaved mine and tacked in metal so that all I had was enough bondo to match the contour of the door and not warp anything up. It's been like that for 3 years now and I haven't had any problems.

definately dont fill it with bondo. that is shitty. at least use fiberglass. lay several layers and smooth it. for doing it

no you push the sheet into the indention, and build it up.
dont shave them on your EF, it wont match the trim in the bumpers

I wouldn't shave personally. MAybe fill in the holes left by the clips by welding a penny from the back, or get your side moldings paint matched. I think it looks pretty cool like that.

Painted side moldings = FTW. I've never been a fan of the shaved look. To each their own though.
