I havent personally done this but heard of it and thought it was interesting..someone that one of my buddies knows made it so that one of the seatbelts had to be locked in for the car to start.

Wow my brother thought of the same exact thing. Its almost like a kill switch, Car wont start unless seatbelt is connected. The last thing most thieves think about is putting on the seatbelt before they drive away.

All I have is a clutchlock for now and my car won't start without unlocking the alarm (somewhat like a killswitch).

but also looking into a lojack :]

I park my car in the garage, blocked my two other cars then put on
the Club
Clutch lock (autolock)
The steering wheel lock, its cheap but it was like 25 bucks so more then better I think you can just cut it with a bolt cutter

and then I lock my garage up with master locks and put the auto sensor light on. If I park on the streets i use the three above plus some extra things i rather not say because i think thieves watch this site, they have to.

The Revelco thing has been covered before. (Still) Seems really silly to me, since any thief familiar with Hondas (which is a lot) will rip the panel off, see the "camouflaged" wiring, an bypass it. It makes to feel safe, but youre only safe to an amature ******* thief.

I use a std 2-way alarm with tilt, glass, switches for the hood and trunk, manual battery kill switch (for the real tards) and integrated fuel and starter kill switches (which are manual also). I also use a removable steering wheel, and park with the wheels turned all the way to one side and locked.

I park in downtown Detroit daily.

My uncle owns a shop that does custom alarms, also where I got mine done, it's called Alarming Sounds Inc. in Pelham NY... I'm gonna ask him about this and I subscribed the thread too. I'm adding 2 mini piezo sirens in the dashboard behind the vents, backup battery, and tilt sensor and all the bling. Ill post when I call him tomorrow.

I use all the usual stuff, however...

One additonal thing I do is use a LOCKING car cover anytime I'm away from my ride for more than a couple of minutes. That is, I cover my ride and use a cable and a lock to secure it to the car. Takes less than a minute to put in on, and take it off...

Most car covers have grommets for locking the cover in place - about halfway down the car - on the bottom edge - so you can use a cable and lock underneath your ride.

The theory is - outta sight, outta mind!

Sure, they can cut the cover off the car to see what's underneath, I suppose, but why?

They don't even know what's under there - it would look suspicious as hell, with the alarm blaring away - and they're already into a felony before they get the cover off!

Kind of a stupid risk to take, just to find an aging '98 CiViC HX underneath, you know?

Anyway, just an idea! Works for me... knock on wood!

Are you serious? That is the bottom line. There are guys with all kinds of measures taken to prevent theft... and the car still gets taken. For whatever security technology out there... there is technology to counter act it. Not an opinion... it is a fact. And if there is no counter measure against an anti theft system... either you do not know about it... or it is not out there..YET.

I have an alarm... hidden brain.. backup sirens in and out..paging... backup battery.. prox sensor... glass breakage ect. Hell, my alarm even powers the ECU, so if it does not go on.... neither does the car.

So that IS my thinking as should it be everyone elses. I never stop thinking of ways to protect my car. I am never 100% safe... no matter what I have done to my car or where I park it.

Remember there was once a time our locks on our car were considered safe... now it is the easiest way in

These guys were so cracked out that they came back after an hour and argued from the sidewalk whether there were people in the car. So we just got dressed and took off.
I had something similar happen to me...

I was 'sleeping it off' (ahem) in the back of a parking lot - reflective limo tint - blah, blah, blah - and a crew pulled up next to me in a Caddy. They started stripping it and throwing the parts in the sidedoor of a van, that - as fate would have it - had me blocked in.

Heh! They didn't know I was in my car, so I quietly pulled a snub-nose 44-Mag Smith out of my glove box and set it on my lap. I figured if they came knocking, I'd unload it through the door, even if it popped my eardrums... which it would have... LoL!

Agreed!

The storage compartment in the door is better, but it rattles around too much!

Plus, I'm always afraid of getting smacked there, and having it go off...

been lookin into getting Zoomback. its like lojack but i think better. you can look online and see exactly where your car is. comes in a liitle box like lojack so you can hide it anywhere. when ur car is moved a message goes to your phone or the cops.
$200 for the unit
$9 a month...
i like it cuz just in case you want to do any street justice you can just track your car as its being stolen. follow it with all your boys. and when u get there. shoot the MFer!

There is technology out there you guys seem to not be aware of yet or not interested in for some reason. At my Shop (www.catonradio.com) we specialize in auto security, video, audio and general customization. Our pride is in the security aspect. If you can imagine it we can probably install it.

One device I think is great is a tracking device which can be added onto your viper, python (DEI product) etc security system. People love Lojack for some reason yet they forget that lojack usually requires a police report before they start working. The add-on tracking system we sell allows THE OWNER to track their vehicle from the internet. If the vehicle passes any mile-boundary marks, or exceeds set speed limits (set by the user) it will alert the owner via email and text.

If your car is stolen you can go online, track it, shut the car down and lock/unlock the doors. For safety reasons when you give the "shut down" order to the car, it will disable the car after the engine is shut off...so the theif can not take the car any further untill you arrive with your guns ... or the police

If anybody has any questions feel free to message me or if you're ever in the area... stop in and say hi

^What area is that you live in? The problem with lojack is if the thief finds it and disconnects any power going to it, it will not work. If they go through a tunnel, underground, or somewhere it doesn't get good signal, it will not work. Best way to spend your money is to get a DEI alarm and stealth it, back-up battery with pizo, proxy, re-route your hood latch cable, hood pin, and multiple kill switches.
