Re: best way to paint rims??? (goulasos)
On my stock 13" VX wheels. I used Duplicolor Wheel paint from autozone. I chose to paint them gunmetal with a clear coat. I started off by stipping the entire wheel with aircraft stripper. Then pressure washed them, then washed with soap and water. This got them down to bare aluminum. Then after they dried I wiped them down with Prep ALL to make sure they were ready for paint.. Then in my case i taped up the outer lip with masking tape. Painted the center with the gunmetal color. Then few coats of clear. Then removed the tape and used some never-dull and polished out the outer lip really good.. Ill post some pics sometime to show how well the turned out..PS I also removed the center caps and removed the from them and painted them red then re glued them back into the centers.. Ive had many compliments on the little 13's ....

If u don't feel like taking the tires off. You can let some air out of the tire and slide big index cards between the tire n the rim. Its good for keepin paint off of the tires.

to solve the problem of over spray on your tires just put some dish soap on them after your done painting and when the rims are dry just rinse off the dish soap

I just stick index cards between the rim and tire and overlap them.
