Best street/autox tires?`
Ok, Who can help me pick out my tires. From everything I've read, the Yokohama Parada Spec II seems to be the way to go. I'm not worried about the price. I do care about wet traction. Noise/comfort/etc. doesn't concern me. I want the BFG Gforce KDW but they don't make it in my size. 205/45/16.... Anybody else have suggestions? Falkens would be great buy the wet traction sucks and they don't make it in the right size. So far the two top are Yokos and Khumos
TIA

If you can get Azenis in a 205/45-16 get them over everything else.

The top 3 tires for Auto-Xing right now are
- Falken Azenis (hands down favorite across the board)
- BFG g-force KDs
- Pole Postion S-03s
And finally the most important fact about Azenis; 8 of the 10 finishers in the STS Class at the Solo 2 nationals were on Azenis, 34 of the 50 cars in the class were also on Falken Azenis for a reason. And 7 of the 11 ladies cars in STS were also on Azenis. Are you getting the picture yet.

Looks like you'll have to try the 215/45-16, depending on your offset you might get some major rubbing.

After reading your post again I ask WHY do you think Azenis suck in the Rain?? You've never driven on them to make this statement, I have so I'll tell you Azenis DON'T suck in the rain, they do quite well in the rain for that matter.

it is better then a lot of tires in the rain.
but they do wear a bit on the fast side ...
after my autox event i took off quite a bit of tread
kumho are great .. good grip and nice wear ...
S03 is great .. but a bit of the expensive side, if you can afford S03 .. maybe consider PilotSport AS ...
Dunlop Sport A2 was used on one of my friend car he used to autox, it was decent.
A032 are too agressive on the road, but i have friend who do run them on street, too lazy to take them off after autox

I ve used the A032r yokohamas and they are very good tires, awesome dry traction the wet isnt the best but good enough, the tires have lasted me around 10,000 miles auto-x and regular street driving the tread is still really good and there will be no need to change them for another 10,000 miles

advan (yoks) are really good for auto x, some tire shops can special order them, they were 100 each for 14in rims.

no reason to hate on the yoko's he asked for good autox tire.. you think a serious autox'r cares that much about treadwear? if its a good tire.. and its pretty cheap for a tire.. i sport them.. who cares i buy 2 sets in a year or 1 set of 200 dollar tires. aka toyo proxie type s for instance.. i don't boost the hell out of an h series motor hoping its going to last 15 years.. i know better

get the s-03 pole positions, they have better all season traction, i have them on my civic, and its like i cant lose control no matter how hard i tried. but they can be damn pricey in the bigger sizes, if you can afford def the s-03's if not get azenis, def dont get cheap piece of **** kumhos those are **** tires.

Re: Best street/autox tires?` (Red AEM Civic)
Ok, as far as the Azenis go, I had read and been told by a few people that hydroplaning resistance wasn't the best. In my area, there are a lot of areas with standing water so I want a tire that's going to go through it rather than skip across it. If I go with them in 16" what offset would keep them from rubbing (has to be 215 width for 16s). Actually, does anyone know if I can get Mugen MF8, Volk TE37, or Rota ??(the MF8 knockoff) in the correct offset?
THanks for all your help. So far, I can't find anything I want in the right size. I have to go too wide, up to a 50 series, or down to a 15".
Anybody know what speedo difference I'd be looking at with a 205/50/16???
Bunch of questions, I know, but I really appreciate it guys.
