I have been considering running a zex kit on my 98 ex. I have heard however its not the best kit. I like it since it is the very easy to install. Im looking to have some decent power when i have it, basically something that will really get me going from a 40 punch.Something to tie stock itr's and wrx's. I will be running aem cai,tanabe medalion,high flow cat,dc header,act clutch and light weight flywheel,and maybe a aem fuel pressure regulator and a new pump.Plan to run a 50 shot till i can upgrade.Think i can get into the 14's?Also what kit would you recommend

nah not impossible, my friend on han use to beat bolt on itr's,stock wrx's, and chipped 1.8t's not too mention bolt on gsr's ludes and si's... this was just with a y8 and bolt ons and a 55 shot

i knoticed you have a auto, if your car is going bye your name.A manual is considerably faster than a auto, gearing on those is horrible and a difference between a manual and a auto ex with those mods i stated is around a 1 sec diff in the quarter if not slightly more.

seriously. itr's run 14 seconds stock.. your car bone stock will run 16's. no way your engine can handle the hp dif of nitrous for you to keep up

i believe there is someone on these forums called singlecam screamer, he will tell you differently. He has the same engine as mine maybe a z6, same thing. With same mods as well but in a hatch and runs a 60 shot and gets into the high 12's which is crazy.My engine will hold a 55 shot , where did you get your info from ? I never hear of y8's not being able to hold that.I believe it will get me into high 14's.There is someone on the forums with same setup just higher shot and same car and runs a 14.2 or 14.1 . I think i will hit a 14.8-14.9

i ran my car at the track and ran a 15.87 with just i/h/e.I lowered my tire pressure and took out the spare.I was running against a stock 99 si. I beat him bye about one car.I thought my run was decent.I know a ex auto with 55 shot of zex runs a high 15, which is sad but im not auto(thank god) I believe i will get into the 14's i will have to show ya proof when i run against my friends itr and wrx.

You can run 75 shot on your stock motor with no problems. Been there done that. I have even ran as much as 100 shot at track. You just have to make sure you adjust timing, have colder plugs, and enough fuel. YOu get get a mid 14 pass with boltons and a 75 shot. good luck

Droppin a full second on a 50 shot is hard to do with street tires but I wish you the best of luck.

BTW, hondata nitrous controls is the best nitrous kit around. Just get a bottle, solenoid, line, and relay
