bent front jack point.. damn it helms!
So I wanted to get my font end up on jack stands to get some new bushings on my sway bar end links and decided to use the front jack point just how the service manual likes it...
My car didn't end up on jack stands but it bent the **** out of my radiator support..
It bent enough that my hood wouldn't secure properly, I was just able to adjust my hood latch to the lowest point and have it secure. So I think I should be ok? But that sucked In the end I used a piece of wood right next to the jack points by the wheel to get the car up and on the jack stands.

this is VERY odd. i use that point ALL the time on oil changes to lift the car evenly and set jack stands on both sides.
did you buy you car used? and was the support, uhm, supported right?? same thing happened to my friends si BUT we caught it before it bent to hell like yours. i think its not secured right.. like some one did a shitty job at repairing it after an accident..

Not the first time i seen this happen. I dont trust that spot because apparently aftermarket supports are not built that great there and you never know when the support is changed. I always use the side points.

Just got the car a while back so who knows, but I just think its old and a bit rusted and the radiator support just doesn't look beefed up enough to handle it in the first place. I am not gonna risk it on another car though.

I've heard of this happening before too and have seen it once so far.

Re: (boosted_EM1)
**** i jack it up from the front LCA and set it on stands. I wrecked my car and the shop did a shitty job fixing it, and my buddy went to jack it up there and all i saw was the whole front end go up and the rest of the car stayed... thank god i saw it before it got worse.
Ive also bent both front tow hooks and had to replace them cause they were that bent. I just use the LCAs from now on.

Re: (EJ1_Sleeper)
same thing happen to me wen jacking up my front and it was just after i had my front end redone from a minor accident. I think he half asses the radiator support but i jacked it up and every pump on the jack i seen my hood rising... im like wtf so by the time i actually noticed it wasnt right i lowered the car and it was bent like yours but it pushed up on my whole radiator support so my hood was up like over an inch over the grill and headlights and it was [freak]ed... i put hood pins in my stock hood to pull the hood down for a quick fix my radiator support has been [freak]ed ever since im prob gonna put a new support in over winter.

Yup, the cheap support will bend so easily. Seen this happened. We fixed it with a 2x4, hammer, and rope to straighten everything back together. Next we are about to order the factory one and change it out.
