i am planning on puttin the battery in tho boot. jst i have bout some 4 gauge wire. is that capable of taking the power. or what cable would you recomend,

I would recommend 2-gauge or 0-gauge.

4-gauge is passable, but if I were doing it, I'd go with something heavier.

I used 2 gauge on my old EF hatch and never had a problem.

My cousin's audio shop sells this really neat flexible 0'g wire, that would work nicely. It's called Stinger EXPERT 1/0 Gauge.

I spoke with a tech @ taylor battery cables and he said it all depends on how long the wire is going to be!

he asked me what gauge and how long I was using and looked it up on his computer or system and said I would barely be passing with 2awg @ 12ft...

honestly alot of people run 2awg as their feed or power wire but theoritically 1/0 or 2/0 should really be used.... since the system you are running runs @ about 120-160 amps.....

I ran 2awg only because thats what was supplied through the taylor kit that i never used except for the wire and connectors

4 gauge will be fine. I work in a stereo shop, and one of the guys was showing me a little book on electrical laws. normaly with a 500 watt amp or so you run 4 gauge wire. According to the elctrical law calculator/reference chart in theory 8 gauge would be more then overkill. Search around online for the calculator.

So are you saying that 10awg is sufficient since 8awg is overkill?

um, yeah, you'll want 1/0 power wire.

also make sure you seal the battery in its own enclosure and have an open vent to the outside. even yellow tops emit gasses that can be flammable.

Also i highly recommend running an inline 150amp fuse, just incase if anything were to happen it could pervent possible fires.

Yes and No! reason being that the stock fuse box(under hood) already has a fuse in it....

All your doing is extending lines and nothing else and still keeping the stock fuse box so your still kool....

Don't use 4g. Use 1/0.

You're still running a long cable carrying a lot of current from the rear to the front of the car. A fuse should be installed near the battery.
