Bad vibration during acceleration
I recently did a b18a1 swap in my 94 ex coupe and I used a gsr tranny and axles. I have already done a search and for the most part it sounds like one of my axles or my intermediate shaft could be bad. It only happens during hard acceleration not while cruising in gear or even in neutral. Mainly happens from 20 mph to 75-80 mph. So my question is could a bad fuel injector be at fault in any way. When I did my swap I used obd-1 injectors and one of them was cracked at the tip (red clear plastic part) so I think it's shooting in a straight stream instead of misting could this cause a vibration under hard acceleration. I know I should check my cv's and stuff first but I'm at work right now so I can't and since this topic hasn't been covered now it can be archived as yes or no.

Re: Bad vibration during acceleration (Chris M)
95 gsr mounts and I don't have the driver side lower mount cause I'm gonna buy a del sol mount so I don't have to mess with my A/C

Re: Bad vibration during acceleration (SirRevvs)
Ok so here's what's actually happening. When I'm flooring it and get to 5500 RPM in second gear (about 55 mph) it's starts to shake all the way up to 7000 RPM By the time I switch into 3rd it's at about about 5500 Rpm again but the vibration gets progressively worse the faster I go. It seems to be doing it the worst at full throttle that's why I ask about the injectors. They worked perfect in a d16y7 even thou one was cracked at the tip and that's why I reused the bad injector in this engine when i did the swap. So if it's spraying improperly would that cause a bad vibration after 55 mph at full throttle or is it most likely to be a CV. As far as I know they are b18 injectors because they were originally pulled out of this motor for temp use by a friend for his D16.

Re: Bad vibration during acceleration (SirRevvs)
on my older toyota, i had the same problem as you and it was a bent axle. it happend twice and broke one apart....thats 3 axles we went through LOL.
what happens is that your axle is bent, and when you apply a load to it, it shakes. its not for sure, but thats what happen to my car twice, could be something else i suppose.

Re: Bad vibration during acceleration (SirRevvs)
try checking the axle, motor mounts, and your wheels.
btw: i suggest you get a urethane driver mount, because those OEM one will bust and youll be left with a dent from under your hood.

Re: Bad vibration during acceleration (=GAMEOVER=)
thanx, I think it might be the pass side inner cv joint. The driver side mount seems to be adequate. No cracking.

Re: (SkipMic2006)
Is this when you clutch is engaged? if so it is most likely the engine mounts, a glazed clutch facing and/or pressure plate.
Liquid onto the clutch can lead to glazing and pressure plate damage, causing a clutch chatter(shaking or shuddering)
If not...
Check the engine mounts, axle, and wheels.

Its probably your axles, but try to make sure that the wheels are on tight. A loose wheel could also be the problem. Most likely it is your axles..... Hope this helps.

Re: Bad vibration during acceleration (backdraft)
well it starts really happeing around 55 mph in second gear at full throttle about (5500) rpm I 'm pretty sure it's not the clutch or flywheel although I did resuface the flywheel myself ghetto fashion but It was straight and smooth when done. when I'm cruising and engaged in gear at any speed there's no vibration like I said it's at full throttle 5000 to 7000 RPM.

when my axles was bent, it would vibrate and also make a thudding noise under acceleration. but since your saying that you can cruise in gear, with no vibration. i don't think it's your axle or tires. i agree with dantastic, it might be the mount.

Re: (ntogethernow)
If it was the mount it would be vibrating the whole time.. not only after 55mph. I have had bad axles many times. This is the cause of the vibration. You probably feel it more because you do not have the front vibration mounts in, but I almost know for a fact that it is the CV joints. Just replace the axles and it should fix the problem. On my car it did the same thing. I had the front mounts on and it still felt like the car was gonna fall apart due to the shaking. It was all because the axle was bad. I agree with myself. also one time a rim was not tightened down all the way and this also vibrated the car... but this was all the time.

i dont have either of the lower mounts in my 92 hatch with a B18B, shakes only @ idle. and thats because i have hard *** urethane enjo mounts.

Re: Bad vibration during acceleration (boostedcivicsir)
ok so I got underneath the car yest and all the mounts are tight, the cv's have no play (although I can't tell for sure if they're not warped), and the wheels are tight. The driver side hub has a very minimal amount of play in it not enough I think to cause a vibration such as what I'm feeling plus it didn't vibrate before I did my swap. this problem seems to be more of a speed induced plus torque peoblem. Like I said before it begins to happen at 55 all the way to about 85. It gets much worse the more I juice it.

Re: Bad vibration during acceleration (SirRevvs)
check you injectors does it seems to bogg out kinda vibrate you said it doesnt do it when u cruise? put it in nuetral on the highway see if it is still doing it. is the idle weird maybe a little up and down? only reason i ask is because when a piston isnt getting gas or spark it will cause mass vibrations at the higher RPMS. another way to check the injector rev it in nuetral se eif it does it if not your back to the cv problem or something..
Good luck.
Good luck.
