Default Bad Headgasket?

Took off my valve cover to check something earlier and found this:

http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/6418/76633870.jpg

Now I don't see any milky colored oil on my dipstick, nor do I see oil in the coolant. Could it just be condensation from sitting in the cold (Don't have a heated garage and it gets pretty cold here).

drain the oil in the pan as oil floats on water all the milky stuff may be below the dipstick but mixed up and frozen on the top of the motor

Mine doesn't smoke though, maybe a little on warmup but after that no smoke.

I would drain and replace the oil. Be sure to run the engine up to temp to burn off any moisture and contaminants.

I was planning on changing the oil today, but it got dark before I had a chance to so I'm doing it first thing tomorrow.

trying to blow your motor is pretty dum

drain the oil for sure, see if there is any milky substance or water on top of the oil, unless there is a ton it wont show in your dipstick.

What were you checking when you removed the valve cover?

Well was trying to get the oil cap off of the valve cover, but it was pretty tight so I had to take the valve cover off to spray the cap with WD40 to help a bit.

That's when I noticed that milky substance.

Checked the radiator right after seeing that stuff, normal color coolant and I'm not losing any either.

the only 100% way to tell is going to be to take the head off the motor. my headgasket blew about 3 weeks ago and my oil and coolant looked perfect with no smoke.

try spraying some wd40 in some extra oil you have laying around and see if it gets "milky". Maybe, hopefully you just got a lil wd in your oil. Also you may very well have condensation in the exhaust. That would be white smoke but would evaporate into the air. If there is white smoke that you can see fallowing you down the street then you may have a prob. How is the engine running btw, have you checked compression?

Last time I checked the compression which wasn't too long ago I had:

Cyl 1: 230
Cyl 2: 220
Cyl 3: 220
Cyl 4: 220

JDM B16a/GSR Head

It drives fine, only at idle does it make a small popping sound from the exhaust (Could that be from the somewhat decent sized hole I have in the pipe welding?)
But other than that, it's fine.

Changed the oil, oil was a bit dirty. No milky substance at all.

An old friend had the same thing in his Type R. It was running rich.

Plus, he drove the car in and out of his shop every day. Without running it to the proper operating temperature.

I would continue to investigate, just to be sure.

Did another compression test after driving it around for a bit

Cyl 1:210
Cyl 2:213ish
Cyl 3:210
Cyl 4:210

If I had a bad headgasket, wouldn't I get lower numbers?

Napa or some other auto parts sells a block tester you put it in your radiator neck and if the blue fluid turns yellow you have exhaust gasses in your coolant. It's $50 and can be used multiple times.

It might not detect a leak between coolant and oil passages though.

I had ok compression readings but yet had exhaust in the radiator (blown head gasket or a crack).

I'd try this test before pulling the head.

Just a question, but how did you know the headgasket was blown. What prompted you to remove the head?

i had literally just replaced the upper and lower radiator hoses, coolant flush, and new thermostat, and then a few hours later my car started to overheat while i was driving. also, i pulled the spark plug out of the #1 cylinder and it was cleaner than it was new (it had about 5k on it) while the others were starting to get dirty.
