Currently someone told me to reset my trip meter so i did,so ar i got 160 ant im already at 1/4 tank when i completely filled it up! I mean whats wrong with this car not even my Saturn wastes that much gas and its 1.9L.How can u tell if you have a bad FPR? What else should i look for?and no it aint tune up its been like that ever since i installed the motor in my car! Any help is greatly appreciated guys

im not sure how to check the FPR,
but what is your driving style like? if you have a lead foot try laying off the gas. you said you are running a chipped p28, is this just a chip you bought and installed, or is it dyno tuned / street tuned? are you using stock injectors?

Re: (Cookie)
Just wondering,,, do you still have the stock ECU that you could maybe plug it back in and check to see if that might be the source of the problem.
Never rely on anyone to "say" this is that or that is this. See what I am getting at?
FPR is just a measured regulator that assures that a certain stream of fluid flows. The problem I am hearing though is that you are running a partially hopped up system and you want "good" gas mileage.
Return your fuel delivery system to stock and see how all fairs,,,

Re: (Cookie)
pull your plugs and that will more or less show you how healthy your motor is. if they are black then you are running pretty rich and might need to set that fuel pressure down a bit, did you have your car tuned after the swap???

Well the thing is that i dont have a stock p28!Only this chipped ecu w/p08 maps.Is there anyway that a bad FPR could cause bad gas? Also i know this has nothing to do with my thread but since your answering alot do you mind checking my other thread about the cel 22

Re: (mortificationrock)
If the diaphragm on the FPR has ruptured, raw fuel will leak into the intake manifold and cause a rich condition affecting fuel mileage and hot engine starts. If ruptured it will act much like an applied choke on a carburated engine (aiding cold starts and hindering hot starts). To check it, simply pull the vacuum hose with the engine running (or key on, engine off) and look for fuel leaking out of the nipple. There should be none.

What nipple the top one or the one going to the canister? also can a bad IAT sensor screw up things?Or should i just get a virgin p28?I mean i dont want to buy another ecu cuz ill be turbo soon next year but i dont want to suffer from bad gas mileage now.Thanx for your help so far
