B20B in a EK Swap
today i finally picked up my 97 Civic EK hatch, its completely stock but one of the mods im doing within the month is a B20B, im going to put it in non-vtec to get everything set and then buy and build up a nice vtec head for it. Has anyone thats reading this done this swap before, vtec or non-vtec, i would like to get some more info on wiring, which doesnt appear to be too hard (ls harness), or if anyone can tell me how quick/slow it may be, ive never ridin' in a B20 powered EK before, and i honestly dont know what to expect.

Re: B20B in a EK Swap (EKCrane)
if you going to do this swap your going to need.....
2000 si mounts and shift linkage.
96-98 ex wire harness
obd2 to obd1 jumper harness
ob2 dizzy for the head you will be running
and a chipped p28..
i suggest the b18b instead of the b20 because they almost have the same output and if your going to keep it non-vtec for a while the b20 is going to require a intake manifold change so you can close your hood..
the smaller liter.. the higher rev you will have..

Well basically u'll get most likely so called a good acceleration response , u'll be redlining about 6,200 rpm top-end will definetly get you killed. . but if u know how to launch a car with street tires ,u'll be in good hands. What i suggest mostly what you get is nice tires with a nice suspension set up. Then build up the whole motor the way you want it.

Well the difference isnt just the horsepower but also the pistons
B20z2 = High Compression
B20b = Low Compression ( good for turbo charging right away )

Not really. I hear those cylinder walls are pretty weak and would need some resleeving.

B18A or B18B is a good way to go if you want to boost...
