I have 95 Civic with a B20b and a 94 Gsr trans. My question is what kind of gas mileage are they supose to get, I know the my d16z6 got 35 in the city, but now its geting like 17 mpg with the b20. Thats as bad as a wrx, and what kind of hp and tq should be getting?

Do you know anybody with one, is it a good motor? Or good for boost?

use the search button- read a little bit. there a great motor- I have on in my hatch and get 36 mpg- you must have done somethign wrong during the swap, or drive like a douche-

what ecu are you using?
when was the rotor cap plug wires adn plugs changed?
no CEL's right?
vacuum lines are all correct right?
nothign hacked?

i have a b20z and i get about 25mpg in the city and almost 35mpg on the highway. and thats slightly modded and type R trans!

The b20 I have is getting like 15-17 in the city, I check the wires, and changed the plugs, the rotor and cap seem to be in good shape, right now I’m running on a d15 ecu, but that’s because ls ecu was for a automatic and it wouldn’t rev past 32 hundred. Would that cause this poor gas mileage?

Oh that was another thing, in a 1/8 mile, what dose a b20b with 94 gsr trans, skunk2 intake manifold, AEM air intake, Megan 4-1 header, cat-back exhaust with test pipe run? Dose anyone have a similar setup?

I am not a genius but I would ditch the computer and get right one... I am curious what wire harnes you running?? there probaly is a problem in that. Make sure you got right comp and wiring...

The wiring harness is my stock d16z6, I would change the ecu but I’m waiting the guy to convert it over to manual, as well as bad gas mileage once in warms up it revs really slow from 1-3k then takes off when it hit 3k

The way the engine is running, it almost sounds like your valve timing is off. This can CERTAINLY have a VERY negative effect on fuel economy AND performance. Remedythis situation ASAP, and get the right ECU. Unless something else is SERIOUSLY wrong, this should correct the problem.

By the way, I am running a B20Z swap in my 1988 Civic 4DR with I/H/E and a stock OBDI PR4 ECU. And I am getting around 33MPG on the freeway and 26MPG in town.

Ok, I’m no mechanic by no means, but if I replace the ECU and still have this problem what then. What’s the next thing to worry about? Oh, some other things its doing too, like when you take off in traffic it about jerks your head off if you don’t ride your clutch until 3k. And after it warms up and you turn it off and cut it back on it wants to die until you pump it some gas for a minute. The engine light is on because the ECU I’m running is for vetc and it has no o2 sensor, and there is some little thing on the back of the throttle body that my stock one used to run coolant through and the b20 dose not have any hoses to it, would that effect anything? Thanks for your input

By the way how much power do you make with your setup, and the b20Z has more compression than the B20B, other than that is any thing else different? And have you ever taken on a 1/8 mile. Thanks

Before considering ANYTHING else, you need to get everything in order as far as your setup. And this means getting the right ECU, running an oxygen sensor, and checking your timing. When you have problems that are this major, all bets are off as far as having the engine run right and make the kind of power it should.
