B20b to b18c1 or b18c5
I have a 1999 civic ex coupe with a 96-97 low compression b20b engine and Integra LS tranny. Purchase the car 4 months ago, unfortunately the engine was no good. I wanted to know what do I have to do in order swap from my b20b to a b18c1 or a b18c5 . Which ever I can get my hands on, from what I've read the b18c1 it's a easy swap, I get different information on the b18c1. What would you guys recommend? I'm also new to Honda tech. Tried to find a thread similar to this but couldn't find one so decided to make my own.

Better off buying a jdm b20b longblock for $400-600 from a jdm shop
uninstall full swap
swap over complete longblock
reinstall
Unless you get a good deal on a b18c/b18c1-5
if u do
the hard Part is over add vtec wiring if it isn’t there
swap in the vtec engine physically
use all mounts from b20
use shift linkage axles
get the correct ecu or jump it to obd1 with the correct engine basemap ecu
voila done deal

Going from B20 to B18C1/R is straight forward. The only thing you will need to do is wire up VTEC solenoid and pressure switch. If you keep it OBD-2, then you will need to wire in a knock sensor as well.
