Default B18c5 in EH2, PR3???

Well, upon looking into my brothers old stash I found a Pr-3 ECU sittin there and since I'm hopefully soon to get my Type R swap I was wondering if I could use this? If so do I have to do a chip? If so what kind? yada yada yada. ECU's are by no means my specialty so don't flame me if this is a basic question. Sorry.

a pr3 ecu is a obd0 ecu or clear plug. pre obd im sure you can not make it work in obd1 cars

"Anyone gotta D motor?"
"How about a H22?"
"When I get my Type-r motor"

Just pulling your leg Scooter.

If is has black and green plugs then no because it's a OBD 0. But if it has grey plugs then yes it would work well with a B18C program in it.

Oh i forgot... GO BUCKS!

If it is an obd1 pr3 (i have one) it is just like the p30.
A gsr map would not do well with the type R motor because of the low vtec activation. The vtec on the obd1-pr3 should be about 5200, better, but still not up to par for R cams. You should just get a vtec controller and richen up the points that run lean on the 1.8 motor (pr3 designed for 1.6) and up the vtec point. However if you do decide to chip it, get the maps for the type r (if that is the motor you get)

go with the pr3 if its grey plugs, its just like running an obd1 p30 ecu, then if it doesnt feel right get a chip for the pr3 and get a program for a type r motor

Wrong, PR3s came in OBD0 and OBD1.

Before I chipped mine(obd1 pr3), vtec x-over was at 5700 and redline was 8600.
