Default B18c1 cutting out/Extremely rich question...

Figured this would be the place to ask this, the Forced Induction section didn't seem like the right place for diagnosis such as this.

I have a B18c1 swapped '92 hatch. It is an OBD1 motor. Today on my commute home from work it hesitated when I got on it merging onto a highway, then would sputter and break up/cut out when I would accelerate and a little while cruising. The AFR gauge was also reading 10.0 and running super rich! I tried not to catch any lights afraid that it might die on me.

It's a built block, stock sleeves. 9:1 CP pistons, Eagle rods, ITR oil pump, EFI Wizard 1000cc injectors, Walbro 255lph fuel pump, dyno tuned on Hondata S300.
-Brand new distributor from Napa(literally like 250 miles old).
-All the grounds are good, nothing loose
-Definitely getting fuel if it's running that rich( I would assume)

Any ideas on what it could possibly be?

Thanks in advance!

I'm assuming your computer is throwing some codes. Would that be a correct assumption?

No codes, forgot to mention that.

Does the CEL work?

Have you checked the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor?

Have you checked the mechanical timing and compression tested the cylinders?

CEL does work. Checking the plugs in a little bit. Wires are NGK, fairly new. Cap and rotor were replaced when distributor was done(as stated, about 250 miles ago).

The timing looks good. Have not compression tested the cylinders.

Not sure if this relates to the cutting out/breaking up but sometimes when I start the car its kind of luggy starting.

Regardless of how new they are, inspect the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor.

I suspect it's the tune.

maybe a leaking injector?
I had a really bad leaking injector (rc440) and it ran similar to how yours is only worse. run it for a little bit, turn it off, and check each cylinder to see if one of your plugs gets soaked with gas.

This was my thought as well. Be mindful of washing out your cylinders with too rich a mixture. I'd do as many tests as you can without turning on the motor.

This is the first time it's happened. I just drove the car 20 or so miles and it's running smooth again. It was like a freak thing. Just wondering what it could've been. The car cuts out for a split second occasionally(usually at random times) and then runs normal/fine too. Sorry if I'm sounding like a noob.

Sounds like an injector with intermittent failure, stuck open

Hmm, makes sense. So assuming it may be that, would that warrant new 1000cc's??
