b18c1/ b16a2 question
ok i just had my b18c1 head put on my b16a2 block
its a built skunk 2 head with a stock b16a2 block..
i had the motor put together by a machine shop and they did the timing and everything.
the motor cranks but wont start i dont know what it could be!

ok firing order is right idouble checked that, so cross that off.. starter is working fine so cross that off.. fuel pump is working fine so cross that off and the groudns are all so good too. and none of my fuses have changed so. iduno

did you ground the cvonnector at the therostat housing. that is the ground for the ecu. and why would you build up your head and not the block? you probably would have got more power by getting a 1.8 with higher comp

Thats my guess. Check the ground that screws in off of the thermostat housing. I can almost garuntee it's a ground connection somewhere. Just check all your grounds including that one.

i bought the head built off a friend.. the block iwll be this winter
and i had a code 6 for the check engine light which is thermostate sensor. so ima check that out.

thermostat sensor? Well if you have a CEL, the ground at the thermostat housing is most likely plugged in. Since that's the ECU ground.
Your code 6 probably means you plugged the VTEC plug (green) into the Coolant temp snesor (Gray plug). Switch those around. You should be good to go. If your CTS reads open, it's reading -40 degrees and flooding your engine.

wow, always something dumb... i got mine running last night but it smokes like a bat out of hell and i cant figure out why.... my friend says he may have crossed something with the evac system
