Mm pretty sure he means his block is done for so he is changing it. Yes, it won't have as much torque as the GSR but it will still move nicely with the mods you have especially in a hatchback.

well i have a JDM B16 in my eg coupe and recently was at the strip and ran a 14.9 against a GSR that ran a 15.2. we were both stock besides bolt ons.... my b16 had a better top end i beleive... but if you do ls vtec they tend to get expensive and can be a nightmare. with a b20 unless u boost it your not going to be satisfied with the output. if i were you i would shove some JDM B16 pistons in that block and go. just my thoughts.

I'd say with 1600 do a small JMD B16 build and smoke gsr's and ls vtec's. a boosted b20 is bad *** tho.

With $1600 I'd just throw a nice b18b block on your existing gsr tranny.

http://www.hmotorsonline.com/s...30025

It'll be faster than a b16a, and likely have more potential.

All shipped to your door for ~$1000.

That even leaves you with some money for some cams.

I agree with ek on this one. You can even search the marketplace and find all you need for cheaper than 1k since you already have the trans. Save up some money from there and you can LSvtec or even sell the remainder of your parts for turbo components.

The b18b with a b16 tranny I drove was very fun IMO.

So that's not experience? Why don't you ask me if I've ever driven a car with the setup before you start bashing me.

For $1600 there is no way you could turn that GSR into a fresh motor with a rebuild?

IMO, I woud much rather have a B18b1 with a B16 trans than a B16. Wait, I do have a B18b1 w/ a B16 trans lol

A JDM B16a is going to have the same horsepower as a GSR, less torque however. Still will make good power for much cheaper.
