ok all i need to know is what transmission that would be better(as of performance) would be able to fit on the b18b engine, can the d series trans fit it, say the d16y8 trans, would this be a good match

You can make it fit with an adapter, but it's not only weaker but less aggressively geared. So no, that wouldn't make sense.

An Si/Sir transmission typically mated to a B16A is geared quite closely, and gears 1-3 are quite close. A GSR trans typically mated to a B18C1 will have slightly longer 1-3 but are stronger. A ITR trans mated to a B18C5 will have the best combination of both the closer gearing in 1-3 and the added durability. Take your pick. If you're looking for performance, avoid the LS trans as it's geared for economy.

d series trans will not fit with any b series. go with a b16 or b18c trans for nice short gearing.
