b18b with d-series transmission
is d-series transmission is direct bolt on with b18b engine? i dont have enough money to buy a complete swap so i am planning to buy just engine and use my d16z transmission. is it possible? my friend can hook me up a 98 b18b for 500. is that good deal?

I know you need b-series axles, ecu, shift linkage, and transmission. You cannot use d-series parts on a b-series engine, for the most part. Just buy a B18B swap, it would probably cost you more to piece together everything you need than to buy a complete swap. Or you could save up and go FI on the d-series

Re: b18b with d-series transmission (pennies_hatchie)
thanks for advices and laugh. is 500 for b18b motor is good deal? there's no price difference with d16 motor. people who turbo d16 often say they do sohc because even if they blow the motor up, they can get another one for 500. b18b is also 500. you can boost more saftly with b18b than d16. is there any other reason why some people love sohc? maybe vtec?
