Default B16B head on B16a SiR II Block

Ok, I am going to swap a B16B Head onto an B16a SiR II block. Now I understand the head is OBD II and the Block is OBD I. Is this a straight bolt on procedure or is there any other things I should be aware of? Also, I heard that when you do this you lose compression, is this true?

B16B = B16A

Heads are the same cast

Ok, would I be able to use my old intake manifold and distributor? Or would I have to go with OBD II?

Yes, but its temporary. I have a 2.0 L type R block in the works. Will it yiels any performance on the B16a block though?

Unless it came with the CTR cams, not really. There's slight porting and polishing...
