b16b, b18cr, or jdm gsr, for my 2000 si?
I know there are a hundred and one questions about this topic everyday, but i need to know what the majority of the Honda guys prefer. I am stuck in my decision and all my friends all say different things. So I really need an opinion on this. Maybe a future turbo build on whatever I get.

i guess not judging by your name. wait until you have block and head separation because all the a2s want to do is rev theirselves to death

b16b is almost the same price as a itr engine, if you going to spend that much go with the itr, you didnt ask how much you want to spend. If your stumedp i would go with the gsr, its all around good and has potential for a lot of fun.

Re: (b16a00si)
still got a z6 in my dd. my b16 car pulls alot harder but the timeslips show a different story, but my a2 is slowly dieing. you can get the longblocks b16b or b18cr for the same price. or get the whole gsr swap with lsd for a few hundred more. i can get any of the three. i really need to know the opinion of the general honda public.

I have the JDM ITR B18c in my 96 coupe. Down low it has more torque and pull than a B16a/b and on VTEC, it pulls like a ****. I reach 200km/h in no time at all. Spend the money on the ITR engine, you won't regret it at all.

itr is over rated. i've beaten a 00 si with an itr swap. it was full wieght against my fully gutted b16 coupe lsd itr tranny. I got him by half a car.
what are you going for, you said you plan on boosting later. just get the b18c1, they love boost.
and what *** is a b18cr?

Re: (b16a00si)
in japan there is no numbers after the c. they denote the b18c5 (itr) in japan as b18c-r. jdm motors have no numbers.

Re: (d16z6_b_pirate_13)
on a small note i think the gsr with the lsd tranny is going to work out pretty good. I noticed that the sycncros in my b16 tranny are going out. i only have the money for the longblock for either of the type r motors or the whole gsr lsd swap.

i think thats your best bet (gsr swap).
you could also get a ls short block, do a ls-vtec, and have enough funds for boost?
depending on your mechanical ability, you could re-ring and hone the block, and install the golden eagle vtec conversion.
