B16B or B18C5 on my EG hatch?
What would you choose if you have a Honda Civic EG hatch and you had the opportunity to install either of the two Type R engines? What will be your reason why you will choose the one over the other? Please I need your opinions...

I know you are from the PI and everything, but you should use the search feature of this website and find answers to many of your questions before you even ask them.

I found a complete B16B here in the Philippines, it will cost around US$2900 plus US$400 for the installation.
The complete B18C5 will cost around US$3250.

you should ONLY choose the B16B if you need it to keep your car in a certain class for club racing.
there is no other good reason to choose the B16B over a B18C5.
the B18C5 is SO MUCH MORE POWERFUL

I was just wondering if it would be practical to install a 1.8L engine than a 1.6L engine especially I am not into drag regularly. I just want to install either of the engines for the sake of having it and having a sleeper as well.

i'm a sucker for the B16B, much more unique(atleast here), and do C5 internals and they'll never know what hit 'em...you can claim 1.6 all day long...

screw a B16B or an EG... I would drop a B18C5 in a fully polished Jeepney! You would need the extra torque of a B18C5 to pull all of those people around

If I were you I'd get the b16b.
1st. Its a little more rare to have one especially in an eg hatch.
2nd. The civic type r engine has advantages over the the b18 with better compression, not higher, but better which creates a more stable tourqe throught the powerband. Less power loss when it switches over to v-tec.

B18C5 -- it's more powerful and a lot cheaper. In fact, most people get theirs for free.
either one is better than my pos...you can't go wrong with either of em!
