You dont have to get a b16a3 to get it into your del sol. Any b16 will work i.e 99-00 Si or JDM b16. Dont get the OBD0 b16 with the cable tranny though.

why not just put another B16A (JDM)? they are exactly the same as the B16A3.
there wasn't many 94-95 (OBD1) B16 del sols made. so finding a A3 block is going to be quite rare.

IMO, i would just upgrade and get a B18C block. it's the best time!

Hell, if he's inlove with the B16, then it would make a difference whether it's a obd0 b16 or cable tranny, since he's only looking for the bare block.

the ecu set up and tranny has nothing to do.

Isn't the B16A3 the Type R block? Trying to find one of those and the money you'll spend on it isn't worth it to just have a 3 instead of a 2 stamped on the block. Like everyone else said, if you just want a stripped block then get a B16A2 or even just a B16A.

No, the B16A3 is the same block as the B16A2. They're basically the same motor.

You're thinking of the B16B(CTR).

man i wish you lived near me, i have a spare b16a block sitting in my closet for about 2 years now. was thinking about being th eunder dog and building a N/A b16, then i wanted to build a N/A b18, I'M CONFUSED!

maybe i'll keep it and build a F/I b16, who knows! in you case, what are you intentions for your sol? if anything getting a b18 block would be a upgrade from the b16. it'll bolt right up to the head and tranny with no problems.

IMO, just get the b18 block and build from there.

Unless you dont have the cash I see why, but generally saying you dont want the b18 is something else. Why not? I dont see why anyone would want a b16 block over a gsr block.
