B16A2 SiRII owners I need your help!!
Who in here has a B16A2 SiRII in their EG hatch? What 1/4 mile times are you guys posting? Whats the potential if I build it up for NA as in 1/4 mile times and also be daily driven. The reason I'm asking is because my D16Z6 just gave out on me and I'm looking into doing a DOHC swap. Just so happened a friend of mine knows someone selling the B16A2 complete swap for 2k. Also...is my wiring and ecu compatible...i have a cx with a 95 Si swapTIA!!

Re: B16A2 SiRII owners I need your help!! (Synergy001)
what most people would say...lots of variables...or....take it to the track and let us know..but ill help..
you're looking at low 15's to high 14's in a eg going n/a stock motor with bolt on's....now if you were to boost, you're looking 13's to high 12's depending on what turbo system, management system, boost, etc..
like i said...too many variables..also depends on the driver as well

i believe that i am a good driver. i piloted my sohc vtec NA motor to 13.8. i dont want to put anymore money into the sohc because i already spent a lot on it. i think its time for the sohc to retire because i got almost 200k on it. i'd rather pay for a dohc motor and start off fast and then go from there.

13.8 with an n/a sohc motor is
was it with nitrous?
you wont be that fast with a stock b16a2 with bolt on's..at most high to mid 14's average

naw...NO nitrous NO turbo...just a good mechanic from my crew who did my motor work and tuning.

I have stock 1994 JDM SiR-II in EJ11 coupe chassis (the heavy EX with power everything, sunroof etc) with short ram intake, full interior, etc. Goes 15.2@98mph before fuel tuning/gutting. SiR-II is a good way to go for this chassis in my opinion. Nice high revving engine. As far as potential, well, that Eric whatshisface guy is running 9's on a similar engine n/a i believe, and the Roger Foo Speedvision car whooped up, placing #1 at Laguna Seca with some headwork n/a.
Also, the engine dyno'd 151.5HP and 109 TQ. Could use some torque but pulls like a motha high-end.
Also, there is nothing quite like revving to 9,000 rpm every day.

Re: (Synergy001)
well with that good of a tuner, the possibilities are endless..
you should definately get it... but i would drop the b16 block and get a b18 or b20 block for the long run...just more torque

Re: (Synergy001)
Well I was running a b16a3 in my EG chassis. With 150k miles on the motor and tranny I was still running high 14 second 1/4's pretty damn stock in Texas weather.
Oh yeah, and if you wired your car for the SOHC Vtec, you shouldn't need to rewire anything.

Re: B16A2 SiRII owners I need your help!! (Synergy001)
I have that setup. But haven't made it to the track yet. I was able to pull a 15.2 @89 with a d16z6. So now with a b16 I'm gunning for low 14's Will See i have to drag on 15" wheels due to the brakes but the car is gutted pretty much with a roll bar. Last weight was 2150 with my 180 IB but in it.
I might try once before the snow closes everything down here. If so I'll post back up.

Re: B16A2 SiRII owners I need your help!! (Touge Panda)
True, but thats why I threw my b16a3 in there. Same motor, maybe a slight increase in c/r but times should be pretty close to the same for a general idea.

Re: B16A2 SiRII owners I need your help!! (ill phil)
For a stock B16 in an EG, I'd say 1/4 times should be in the 14's. Lower if the driver is more experienced.
I have yet to run the 1/4 mile with my setup yet, but my goal is low 14's-- full interior, and all my heavy mods

how in the hell are u running 13.8s with a b16 siR II???? i am not doubting u but the norm in my area are high 14's and i already did that with a b18b motor. are u using slicks or street tires or drag radials????? looking for an idea also about this motor's 1/4 potential.
is ur motor stock or do u have cams, valvetrain ect???

only on the g-tech pro never at the track.. from that on 16 inch rota c8's I ran a 14.17 and a 14.25. Not bad but it's your 60ft on street tires that kills you.

Cocky little guy are ya, what do you drive? BTW, I never said my car or my motor was stock.
Stock limiter is 8200, yes. I agree it does sound like bs, But maybe he has a chipped ECU?

Exactly. Not saying he can't.. he can, but why!
Unless you have upgraded cams..

Guys with inner and outter springs espically aftermarket and a cam. You can make plenty more power up to 9. Since he was vague on what he has it's easy to assume. But With a Toda Spec b or c Cam and upgraded valve train you can spin a stock block to 9 and make power the whole way. I'd be getting worried about the lower end but it would probablly be ok.
