Re: B16 Swap Car runs like crap
Well, you could buy both axles, replace them one at a time. If one of them fixes the problem, just return the other one. I feel you on wanting to save money. Just throwing it out there.
Wrona, that doesn't change what I said. If he has an OEM LSD transmission, Honda MTF would be the best choice. If it's a 5 speed, try to get the "old" MTF.

Wrona, if he's using an aftermarket LSD, Honda MTF might not be the best option. Like I said, with an LSD, always contact the manufacturer for the best MTF option. If it's a Honda LSD, then Honda MTF is the obvious choice. Not disagreeing with you, just clarifying my point.

Re: B16 Swap Car runs like crap
Hey man, I'm right there with ya. My dad gave me my first car, an 87 Justy turbo wagon. After that, it was on me to either keep it running, or get a new one. Kept that turbo shitbox running longer than it should have. I mean, who the hell overhauls a 13 year old motor to factory specs?
Oh wait, I almost forgot, I'm in a Honda forum :D

just ffrom driving it for a while. it feels like the valves are sealing completely and the rings popped out. Like all of a sudden it got a hell of a lot more power. ITs redicolously fast it pushed me back in my seat and i was barely accelerating. I checked my timing to make sure that wasnt why and my timing is dead on. its just a good healthy motor i guess im very happy with the swap, but i gotta fix them axles :O

Re: B16 Swap Car runs like crap
Ok so i replaced the axles. IT STILL CLUNKS WHEN I TURN!?!? This is really starting to **** me off. The car steered perfectly fine before the swap.. Only thing i touched was, the Front bottom ball joints, Wishbone and axles. Thats all i touched for the driveline. I dont understand why it still clunks. Unless the transmission is ****ed. But it would always be clunking and it doesnt. Im pretty stuck on this one.

Re: B16 Swap Car runs like crap
I had to hammer on the bolt on the ball joints pretty hard to get them the wheel hub off, is it possible i screwed the ball joints up? Also my wheel doesnt really wobble. But When im on the freeway the car moves without the steering wheel moving, just a little tho not a whole lot. I thought that was just the bad axles.

Re: B16 Swap Car runs like crap
Because its part of procedure to getting the axles out for the swap, i figured you would have said BALL JOINTS!!! just like The hundreds of people who told me axles. I didnt REMOVE the ball joints i just hit on the lower ball joint to get the wheel hub out of the way so i can get the axle out. I could have messed it up.. They were pretty stuck in the lower control arm.
BTW, i used a rubber mallet, like the soft mallets not the hard plastic ones.
