b16 question.
Recently i've had a lot of crap go wrong with my stock engine and have been planning to swap. I have an EG and am wanting a b16a2. So problems keep piling up with my stock engine and it seems like a better idea to just save that money to buy a swap other than fix the problem. Ive searched on here but didnt really find an answer. So my question is. Around how much would it cost to do a full swap with everything done right and everything i need to get it up and running? My vx is killing me right now. And isnt worth the trouble.

Re: b16 question. (khodey)
if you do the swap yourself then its gonna cost about 1800-2200 for the engine. but if you are having a shop do it then its gonna be like 700-900 more for labor

well i wouldnt have to pay for labor. But all of the engine swaps i see on the internet are pushing $3000. without the small extras. like new axles and mounts and stuff.

Re: b16 question. (imports automotive)
i've done it on my car with no check engine light and a clean swap
my car and motor is obd1 to obd1... its not hard to remove 3 motor mounts, 1a/c mount, 1 tranny mount, unplug everything and take it out. putting it back in is the same thing.

yeah i just finished a swap yesterday. i worked 10hrs straight. assembled a b20vtec, pulled out the old motor and drop in the new. pulling out the motor only took 40 minutes, but its all the wiring that is gonna take time. but if you do it yourself and you are good at it, then it saves you a lot of money

i've done my car with matching obd's no wiring needed except for knock sensor . i do admit the wiring for obd2 is a bitch i hate doing obd2 swaps, just not my cup of tea

Re: (Syndacate)
my b16a obd1 swap package was $2400 w/ $300 shipping so $2700 to PA. and it was wrapped nicely, clean, only broken part was the tps(like every swap comes) and the delivery guy actually dropped it off in front of my car, where i could easily pop the sucker in..good luck
