well i have an ls and i love it. Awesome torque. But you can also go with a b20, it's basically up to you though. Either way you go ( ls or b20 ) you'll enjoy it.

out of those choices i would go b20...but if dont plan on spending any more money on the engine once it's in, id get a d16z6 for 500 bucks and turbo it

personally id go with a b16. it will be good for now..but later on in life when u wanna go faster you can either get the LS block or b20 block for fairly cheap and slap your b16 head onto it..and you'd have 2 out of 3 of your picks and not just one.

if it will take a long time for you to build it, i'd say go with the b16 for the fun daily driver aspect. judging from your name, you got a si hatch? so you already got a z6 motor right? so i'd get b16 or turbo the z6 and have a really fun daily driver. good luck bro.

first of all, what are you plans for the motor???? N/A, boost??? If your going N/a... get the B16 for now, then swap the block out later..... or you can do the same to boost it... but you could just get a stock ls... then turbo that....either way you will be happy

i drove an LS with a GSR tranny, which is actually what im buying relatively soon, it was surprisingly quick, and a very welcome change from the z6 i had been driven before that, its a great daily driver, and a turbo Ls would probobaly spank a turbo B16 if you ever decide to take it that far

yah.. all i have is intake exhaust (no header cuz thinin bout goin turbo) ... SAFC ... this thing is fun to drive!! since my car is daily driven dont have time to go crazy on the motor again (took me and a buddy 7 months to get my car running right) ... never took to track... or dynoed... raced a gsr rolling at about 15 mph with i/h/e and it was dead even up to about 85 ... pretty sure he wouldve past me after that... but stoped racing cuz there was no more space (trying to be safe and race) also upgraded my suspension and got cross drilled rotors.. so when cornering I can pull out of a turn real quick with all that torque... kept up with an ol schoo m3 around some corners ... felt good ... not tooo fast... definitely not slow ... but definitely a blast to drive... b20 all the way!

Re: (EGSIX92)
you can't buy a full swap usually because b20 tranny won't work... so U have to locate the rest of the parts your self.. I ended up paying around 2000.00 for my whole swap.. oh yah forgot that I also installed an ACT clutch... that was like 400.00 by itself... but well worth it with the torqy motor... so if u keep stock clutch u coud probably do everything for about 1600.00 . ? all the parts i got were new also.. distriutor/axles/starter etc .... so I'm not worried about that stuf for now

if i were u i'd go with the b16a2 .. i dont really see what the Ls motor has over the b16 .. and have'n a b16 leave's u with so many options down the road whenever u decide to start work'n on it

Well according to his Screen name it's 92hatchieSi or something like that, the B16A2 is OBDII, his car is obviously OBDI. There is an issue already, if he would want it done properly, he would need an OBDI motor. Secondly, the B18B has just as much aftermarket support as the B16A. I don't know about you, but I don't like buying $2 a gallon gas (92+ octane) for the B16A, whereas the B18B only requires 87 octane. If and when he decides to do any sort of forced induction, he will have to run an even higher octane rating as opposed to the B18B when boosted can run a lower octane rating. The B18B has more low end power than the B16A, I don't know about you, but I don't like having to rev up to 5500 just to go to the grocery store. People always think your racing when you're just trying to keep up.
