I would think the b16, if you even needed to do such a thing to it. It's the best flowing head out of the entire b-series.

Depends on what you want it for. B16 P&P is the same as a type R head.

GSR head P&P is perfect for boost.

so are you saying that to just get a type r head because a b16 port n polished would be exactly the same? wouldnt a b16 with aftermarket p&p be better than a jdm type r head?

Look at the head alone. No cams no valves no nothing, just a bare head. They are exactly the same except for the P&P. Type R head has P&P done to it. Mild but its still there.

If you get a P&P it wont be the same as a type r because no P&P are exactly the same.

What do you want it for? what do you plan on doing?

i don't know if one would really be better than the other. depends on the amount of work done to each head. the gsr will give you a little higher compression due to the smaller combustion chamber.

Why get the JDM ITR? Get a B-16 for cheaper and P&P it. The port and polish difference between a b16 and typeR head is very little which means there is hardly any difference (power wise) strictly between the bare heads.

I would think an "aftermarket" P&P would flow better than a mild one from the factory.Like you said though depends on the shop doing it,no exact end result.Just my thoughts.

actually the "R" heads have a 45 degree angle valve seats, whereas the GSR or b16 have 60 degrees. So u cant just P&P it and call it a type R head.
