b swap with d series auto transmission?
I'm picking up an 99-00 ex in a couple weeks and since my family will be driving it, they want one with an automatic transmission, plus they'll be paying for almost all of it if I get one with an auto Is it possible to attach the stock d series automatic transmission onto a b series engine? I know a custom adapter plate would be a must but beyond that I have no clue. Thanks guys!
(btw I'd pick up an EM1 and say forget all of this but no one must believe in the ACTUAL kbb prices since prices are out of this world for those cars currently in this wonderful economy)

I figured the transmission couldn't handle the stress from the engine anyways. Thanks a lot for getting back so quickly, and with a real answer.

A: D-series transmission wont bolt to B-series engine
B: You can't use an adapter plate with an automatic unless you also make a custom torque converter to account for the extra inch or so
C: No ECU with control the thing properly
D: Automatic B-series tranny wont clear the frame rail in a '96 - '00 Civic.

And @OP, technically you could do a B series swap with a Auto LS tranny, and just go all B series if you really wanted to. But it will still be alot slower than a manual. And it only has 4 gears instead of 5 and usually 5th is 4th in an auto. So it loses alot of headroom.

Ive seen an autotragic GS-R swap in an EK and I could probably dig up the pic if youd like me too.

Hmotors might be able to get you a JDM B16 swap with the auto trans. Another option is a USDM H22 auto swap. I've never personally seen one, but it could be an option. It would have much of a problem getting that Civic to move. Even with the slushbox.

If an automatic B-series swap wont clear an H-series automatic definately wont.
