Default B&M FPR and gauge install question

I am trying to install the B&M FPR and fuel gauge.

Going into a 93 civic with jdm h22.

Question:

I hacked off 1/4" of the top part of the stock FPR, and inside is a "piece" that goes up and down (where the stock fpr spring sits).

I'm tryin to dig up some batteries to I can take a picture of this damn thing.

But do I need to take this out or leave it in there?

When trying to put on the B&M top piece, it won't go on perfectly with that piece inside there.

If this makes any sense at all (lol), please help out for those of you who have B&M FPR's or have installed.

and one last question:

should I install the fuel pressure gauge on the fuel filter or the fuel rail?

TIA.

Brandon, I put mine on the fuel filter.

As far as the FPR, I left the spring/washer inside the stock FPR base.

It seemed to me at the time that by removing it, you wouldn't be able to reduce/improve the flow without it because it's pretty much just a valve.

The B/M doesn't come with a new 'valve'...so I assumed you leave it in.

Also, the new spring with the BM fits perfectly on top of the washer/valve..whatever you want to call it inside the stock FPR body.

Anyhow, I left it in...and it fit perfectly.

ya, I installed the top part of the piece, the B&M brass adjuster piece, and the B&M spring, put the whole thing together, and barely adjusts (while trying to turn the brass piece)..

the instructions don't say anything about what to do with the stock diaphram.

In fact, it seems like they're saying to leave it out.

With it out, how in the world can you increase/decrease flow?

yea, the instructions blow! thanks for the help everyone btw.

here's simple instructions:

- take off the stock FPR
- hack off 1/4" from the top of the FPR & take out the stock spring.
- put the B&M top part (with the brass adjuster all the way in), put the spring on top of the stock fpr, and put the B&M cap on.
- use the lil bolts and tie it on using the bottom piece.

done

hooked everything up, and all works awesome.

I would definitely recommend getting an FPR. It's one of the basic functions when tuning a motor to full spec.

for future reference keep in mind b&m is only good for turning pressure up. it can't lower fuel pressure. if you want a cheap one that can adjust both ways go either AEM or dish out the money for a nice sx or aeromotive

sorry but your totally wrong about that. you can turn the pressure all the way down to 0-psi and up to 60psi.
