Default Axle Question

I'm putting a first gen b16 into a fifth gen civic. I'm using the first gen intermediate shaft. Since the first gen axles have male ends on both sides and they are equal length, can i use 2 passenger side axles.

Ahem, i know the correct answer to this for a fact, so I will answer.

Use 88-89 (b21)prelude axles both sides. The 90-93 teg axles are slightly too short, but these are perfect(if anything they are too long.) But being slightly longer won't hurt em too much because there is enough play in the joints for that, and they won't tear up.

I figured all this out on a 1st gen b16 into a 92 cx hatch. He's had that thing in there like 3 months now and he gives it hell all the time. So i'm guessin they haven't given him any problems.

The best thing about those prelude axles is the cores are the same price as civic axles most places. So if you can get them to take different parts for cores(i.e. having a buddy that works at the parts store) you'll be straight.

edit:/ when we did this, we tried the passenger side axles first and it might have actually worked, but it kinda hung out a little bit, like there was a chance that it wasn't gonna seal up on the inner joint, or might pop out. That's why I suggest the lude axles. The passenger side teg axles was way too short. Couldn't even get the nut to thread on the axle when it was in place.

My only guess would be use the drivers side from a 88-89 lude and the passenger side would have to come from a 94-00 teg, or si axle.

That's too much mixing to guess acurately, although i thought about using this same combination myslef a short while ago.

Then he'll need the passenger side intermediate shaft from the matching axle, no?

Yeah, if you use the cable style intermediate, use the prelude axle.
If you can get the hydrolic style intermediate($350 dealer list) then that would make things slightly easier.

I'm sorry, dude, forgive me.

Hydraulic.

For some reason that is one of the ones I just can't take.

Sorry, I just can't take that one. Some spelling errors don't mean squat, but for some reason that one irks me. It's not important, just my stupid little quirk.
