Default Axle nut removal

im in the process of replacing my axle on my 95 civic EX.

however, i cant get the 32 mm axle nut off. the whole thing turns whenever i try to loosen it. the pass side wheel is on the ground, FYI.

do i have to get a driver or big *** pipe? (im using a big *** pipe right now.)

Either airgun or put stock rims with open center cap exposed so you can turn the nut while tires provide tension.

what do you mean the whole thing turns?

both wheels flush on the floor, use a breaker bar to help with the leverage.

i mean that the axle turns with the wrench.

but i'll use that suggestion of mounting the tire while getting it off. i have the tire unmounted currently

the car HAS to be on the ground with the wheel bolted on to loosen it.

nah, just make sure they are snug. Also, put a rag on the breaker bar if you need to protect your wheels.

okay well i got that nut off, and i removed the bolt that secured the fork to the lower control arm. however, i can't get the lower ball joint loose. I dont have enough space to whack it with the hammer i have.

any ideas on how to beat the damn thing so it will come off? or is there anyway for me to swap the axles without having to get the lower joint freed?
