Default Attn: All LS/VTEC + CRVTEC people.

I have read it all on this topic, starting from websites such as c-speedracing.com to all the threads that came up on LS/VTEC in the search engine. I want to simply find out one thing that's barely every discussed. I am really concerned with reliability of the setup. I want to know from people with first hand experience, how long has your setup lasted you for, what parts did you use, what problems you've had, if any. I would much rather prefer to build up a N/A GSR, but i already have a LS w/ GSR tranny in my hatch. Please don't just ignore this topic as I know a lot of you have answers.

I personally was planning on doing a b20/v in my ek, but ive been advised by soo many people that its just not worth the money that you're going to have to spend on it. You would be better off building a b16, b18c1,5 with less money and you would get not as much power, but a lot more reliability. This guy i know has an LS/v with 100% stock gsr internals...it doesnt pull as hard as people expect it to, 14.7 in a fully gutted eg. He has had it for about a year now and its already burning oil like a bitch, and this is on oem internals. If you know your stuff, you have the cash, the patience, and a respectable shop to do it...more power to you!!

dont get me wrong, if done right these motors can put out extreme amounts of power, but its the question of getting it done right. With the B20, oem pistons will not work so aftermarket ones will have to be used which make it even less reliable. Keep it at a safe compression and maintane(sp?) it frequently and you should be ok.

can be unreliable just as any motor is, you need to pay attention to the details and make sure you get good parts. i just heard that the blocks of the b20 are not very strong????
