Attn 5g civic owners w/ rear sway and exhaust!
I got a rear sway bar from an ITR and the exhaust seems to be in the way. I also have a tiny GSR bar and I can't install that either. My thermal exhaust is in the way. Am I doing this wrong? What exhaust is everyone else using? I've flipped the bar every way and done very extensive searches. Thanks for your help.

Also, reply if you have the same problem. I feel like I'm alone here! I can't be the only one with this problem.

people are looking, but no one is helping. Someone has to be able to help. I really want to put this bar on my car. I've been teased by all the good feedback about it.

Thankyou! I know I'm not alone. I know other people have had this problem and got around it. I just want to know how they did it. Thanks for replying.

I don't think the exhaust will move. I tried to hold it out of the way, and it wouldn't really move. It's tight. we may just have to get new exhaust, or just a rear section.

The exhaust MUST be designed with a sway bar in mind. Some of the axle back exhausts have this worked out. My custom made exhaust from an exhaust shop fits over my supension techniques sway bar fine, but the straight exhausts have limited bends to improve performance. An exhaust shop will be able to help you out, but they MAY have to compromise exhaust performance a small amount to accomodate the sway.

my exhaust follows the original path of the facory exhaust. It jumps over the LCA, I guess not high enough. Do you know of any axel backs that work?

I know the Mugen Twinloop works, and I think that the DC Sports Twin Canister also works. The mugen, of course, is $$$$$$, and the DC may not be much of a performer.
Have you thought about having an exhaust shop modifying your existing system to fit over the sway better?

The exhaust is all stainless and no one in my area will work with it. I was an expensive gift (less than 1 year old) and I don't want to mangle it. Will just about any rear section (axel back) fit onto the thermal pipe?

*runs out to his own hatch and the other one the parking lot at work, both of which have rear sway*
THATS WHAT THAT FREEKIN SQUEEKING NOISE IS!!!hahahahahhaa
been wondering bout that. very minor squeek but annoying needless to say.... definitely easy problem to solve. just a matter of adjustment. i have full cat-back HKS Hyper with a custom piece over the axle to prevent having a whole in the back corner of my muffler from it slamming down. it seems that the custom piping is capable of rubbing a bit. NOTE: i have a gsr sway bar.
