ok my buddy has a 5th gen 4 door dx and he's swappin in a b18a1 from a 93 da. he's gettin a b16a2 tranny from our buudy now the question i have is will the diff from the da cable tranny work inside the b16a tranny? also can 5th gear in the da tranny be put into the b16 tranny?

-basically i need to now what he will need to put the a1 with a hydro tranny into his car?

u need the axles too...
Unsure about the cable gear set swap but someone did a ls swap out on the 5th gear here so if you did some search that info may be had?

i've been searchin! i am actually rite now too i just asked h-t to make sure i was gettin correct info cuz we r doin the swap this comin weekend and i nvr messed with calbe trannys before...from what ive found, we can use 94-01 teg mounts, linkage and axles with any hydro b series tranny...

you will need the ECU from the DA. the wiring harness will not work because the shock tower plugs are flip flopped. However, the stock wiring harness for your buddy's EG8 will work just fine. For axles and mounts you need them to be from a 94-01 integra, the DA axles and mounts will not work. You will also need a 94-01 integra intermediate shaft as they are different than DA's (DA integras have a female end, DC integras have a male.) Shift linkage is from a 94-01 integra, as well as throttle cable.

For the transmission, to answer your question yes you can swap the parts internally. However, if you've never done it before i don't suggest tearing apart two good trannies without learning on a junk one first, even if it's a d-series. To use the DA's differential (not sure why you want to do this however) you would need to use the DA's mainshaft as well.

Personally, unless there is something wrong with the b16 trans i would leave it alone. If the gearing is what he's worried about at cruising speeds it will only be about an 800rpm difference, so decide if that's worth it.

Thanks! the reason i asked asbout swappin diffs is cuz the b16 trans diff is shot from what the seller told my buddy...he's just gonna get a gsr tranny so tht problem is gone, again thanks!

now bein tht we're usin the da ecu do we need a jumper for use with the obd2 harness?

What OBD2 harness? '95 civics are OBD1, '92 - '93 DAs are OBD1, no conversion harness necessary.

if your buddy has a 5th gen then it's not obd2, it's obd1. in which case the obd1 pr4 will plug right into the stock cabin harness.
