Apexi N1 on civic hatch? wont fit!!!!!!!!
Hey-
This is really pissing me off...I bought an N1 exhaust made by Apexi, and when I took it to the exhaust shop they said they couldnt fit it in there. I simply want it to come up at a slight angle and out a littttle bit. Do any of you have a hatch with this exhaust? Do I need to cut the bumper a little arch? The only reason the shop said they couldnt do it is because i wanted to point it up a wee wee bit and there wouldnt be enough "ground clearance". I put this in parenthesis because I do believe there will be enough.
Does the piping go under the lower control arm? ARGH please help

i have the same exhaust and i took it to meineke and they wanted $200 to install it said it didnt fit they had to cut the pipes to make it fit straight i ws like its supposed to be on an angle and they were like look the cat-back pipes hang low...i took it to another meineke in another town they installed the thing for $50 and they knew what they were doing its suppose to be on anangle and its supposed to hang low, however i dont suggest using the exhuast with any rim lower then 15" then u might hit the bottom...

Sorry about the bad pictures... These were taken about 1 1/2 year ago... Dont forget the Apex'i N1 exhaust system is different... I kno that the full catback system hangs underneath the rear suspension... It doesnt go thru the LCA(lower control arm)... I had problems with the axleback piping hitting the lower sub-frame... After a year later with the exhaust with 15 rims and Apex'i N1 coilover lowered to i dont kno how much, the canister flatten out on the bottom and created a hole... I still have the canister sitting at my friends place and if u want i can take a picture of it to show u how much the damage it caused...

How low was your car in order to flatten the canister? Mine isnt too too low, and I only want to have the tip of the exhaust popping up,kinda hide the caniste runder the bumper....but i dont know if that will work too well. Any assistance any of you may give me is GREATLY APPRECIATED. Once again, I thank you veyr much and welcome further suggestions.

sorry no pics, if i had to do it all over again i would still get the n1 just would have gotten 17's instead of my 2000 si rims. if you get the n1 with 17"s and a 2" drop you will be fine. or just stick with the 15"s w/ no drop

I have no idea how much i lowered it... It's always changing since i was trying to find the height that satisfity my taste in both performance and looks... BTW it was the Apex'i N1 coilover which impressed me alot... I once dropped the rear all the way down to the bottom where u can adjust it any lower, and riding on 205/50 15's, just a little bump on the road i would bottom out... If i would have known it would sit so low, i would never get it... That and i couldnt wait for King Motorsport to deliver me a twin loop... My exhaust rusted off so it forced me to get anything that was nice and instock at my buddy's shop... Now my twin loop is sitting in my cousins shop on the display wall...
Im just waiting on my friend to take a picture of the canister and i will post it up asap...

I have an N1,i bought the universal muffler and got mandrel bent 2.5" custom piping. IT's sits pointing to the right and tilting up. But it went to the left of the point where the LCA mounts to the subframe...instead of over or under the LCA..
