Is it rebuildable?

I just bought a set of used Apexi coilover, how do can you tell if it's blown.

Is lowering an civic 3inch hard on the shocks?

They should be rebuildable as long as there isn't to much damage. The best way to tell if they are blown is to see if they compress easily or hold up. A shock that is blown will be easy to press in. A blown shock my also leak but that is obvious.

You'll have to take them to A'pex USA and have them sent to Japan to be rebuilt/serviced. As for lowering 3", depends on which model you have. The N1's have the adjustable damper length feature that maintains the same amount of piston travel regardless of height (up to the max shortening). This doesn't hurt much. The WS doesn't have this feature. If it's too low, your ride will be very stiff and you may bottom out the damper and possibly having the piston valve contact the bottom of the case, which would result in a really messed up shock.
