anyone run a Bseries AC bracket with a D series compressor?
i'm trying to find out if its a good idea or not to use a bseries ac bracket with a dseries compressor. 2 of the 4 bolts line up, and work fine, but im wondering how safe this is. i was told it would be ok, but i just wanted some 2nd opinions. the compression lines up perfect, and seems to hold fine, but just needed some insight if someone else has done this.. thanks

it will work, i've seen it done........the only real problem i could see is stress from the clutch pulley/belt "wiggling" the compressor around.....
IMO, go for it......torque the bolts down tight, not too tight though......you might want to even apply some theradlocker to the bolts, and see how well it holds up!
worse case scenario is a slipped belt

i disagree with the worst case scenerio. sorry. it may crack the compressor. spend the 70 bucks like i did and get the correct bracket. the only way to be sure.

Re: (VTECDC2)
don't do it, I'm a witness . Mine popped of when the to bolts lined up after 1 month exactly. And I used all air tools to make sure it was on there. The bolts actually broke from the compressor from the stress of the belt pulling on the compressor. The P54 braket works. I believe you can find it online for $90. Hparts.com I think. Other wise hasport makes a bracket that works. Then if all else fells just get Denso compressor and custom make some lines .
All of this is from experience. I just go tmy a/c back after a month of sweaty cloths.

But why not just save yourself the time and money (have to get the AC recharged) and buy the correct bracket.

you can remove the bracket without having to evacuate the ac. hwen i am removing engines, i dont evacuate the ac.

Im not talking about removing the bracket, I am talking about changing compressors. Read the post that my post was replying too.

Re: (tonyXcom)
ok, I know this is an old thread, but I took out my A/C thinking my d series A/C compressor wouldnt work with the p54 bracket. Does that mean that it wouldve fit on the p54 bracked(the a/c compressor)??

Re: (b20_EK)
I know a 96-98 will fit the P54 for sure.

Well for any civics that have a b series swap and want to retain the a/c (stock compressor on their cars) they would need the delsol p54 a/c bracket off 94-95. Not sure if the 96-97 had p30 stamped on them.
