Your not supposed to.
Its Illigal and you go to jail.
When you register the car and DMV finds out ur previous mileage was higher, u get in trouble and you get fined.

HAHAHHA! That's ghetto... If you really want that so bad, then unplug the spedometer...then calculate 200 miles.. somehow... My friend unplugged his GS-T guage

Yea thats not really a good idea and it is illegal. Plus the second owner of the car is gonna be pissed if he ever finds out. Just leave it as its just a couple of miles.

Okay guys this is no different then replacing the odometer. I don't really plan to get rid of the car anytime soon I've put to much money into it. I'm pretty well known here and I would do it and try to play the car off as having only 20,000 miles on it.
If you don't know then don't reply. I know its not exactly "legal" but I'm not trying to do it to sell the car. Its more or less for me. Since no one knows then I'll buy a new one that shows 0 on the clock (which is gonna be the same thing as rolling the miles back anyway minus the 200 bones). I was just looking for a cheaper way to do it because its not that important to me.
Thanks anyways guys.

Even if you are putting a brand new motor in it, there are still all the other parts of the car that don't have 0 miles on them. Brakes, suspension, interior, exterior, HVAC systems, etc.
It is NOT honest or worth doing. In this day and age, they will catch you. Your VIN will be red flagged with "Not actual mileage", which will severely hurt the value of your car.

A friend of mine swears he attached a high speed drill in a vice to the speedo cable and let it run until the mileage was reset.
I just laughed at him

Actually a friend of mine works for a odometer shop and said they only set odometers within a couple of hundred miles. Reason being is that over the life of the car the tires expand and contract adding or subtracting mileage to and from your car. Your odometer is not going to be perfect anyway.
But odometer shops sign and date paperwork for you to let you know the car was professionally done.

Re: Anyone know how to roll miles back on Odometer with out breaking it???? (dniedacess)
I've had my swap for a 1 1/2 years. This is because of my rebuild that I recently had to get done. Like I said I'm not planning to screw anybody, its for me. I'll probably end up trying to find gauge cluster out of wrecked SI because my Speedometer doesn't work all the time either (Haven't found a good price on one yet and no its not the speed sensor).

Haha,
I am sure all the people who intentionally reset their odo will say "it is just for me"..... but seriously, why bother if it is just for you? you know the milage anyways.
