I have been calling around to see how much it would be to have a factory AC put into my hatch. I have the complete system and just need someone to put it in. One dealership wouldn't even touch it, the other wanted $475 just for labor. anyone else have this done and how much did you pay? Thanks

anyways i didnt pay anybody, i did it myself, if you dont know how the it would be a good learning experience

bump, I'm interested too. My CX came from the factory without Air Conditioning, and during the hot summer days, especially on the long drives I miss AC. Do any people on the board know how difficult it would be to install AC on a non AC car? I've been told its not really worth it though.

i installed my own ac too. i have a 97 hatch, and took it out of a 98 ex. it was pretty easy. since i was swapping in the engine too, i didn't have to take off/stick on the compressor, but i think that would be the hardest part of it, with the belts and all.

Yeah, You can do all the install work yourself. Its pretty straight forward. The tricky part is gettng it charged. I was going to try to do that myself on the new hybrid but finally decided not to be cheap for once and just take it to a shop (just didn't want to F' with it). I'll let y'all know how much it costs just for the coolant.

ya, the only thing i didn't do myself was charge the ac. my dad works at a auto repair shop so he did the labor for free, he just had to pay for the cooland.
