Default Anyone have the "JDM Type R Style" seats from JHPUSA.com?

They look pretty nice from the pictures, just wondering how they feel and what the overall quality is like. They seem a lot like the seats from my EP and might go well in my EG. Opinions?

Pricing is $299 for the PAIR w/ sliders.

For a pair? Pretty nice. I think I'll buy a pair just for kicks.

Ouch... $181 shipping for me, still $480 for a pair of seats to my doorstep isn't that bad (considering they are decent quality and won't kill me in a wreck).

They don't have any kind of DOT approval, I wouldn't trust them.

OEM or nothing IMO.

What is your source for this info? It's not like any of the other seats on that site are listed as DOT approved. I'm not saying your wrong I'm just curious as to how you came to that conclusion.

NRG's website, which is the company that makes all of the black/red recaro copies.

JDM carboy sells them too, i wanted them until I found out that the DOT didn't like them.

I meant if it is confirmed that they are good quality and won't kill me in a wreck, I wasn't stating it as fact lol.

i'd like to know how i seat could injure you in an accident.

like it folds you in half like a cartoon in a hospital bed?

^^ There's a good reason all oem seats have to be approved by the DOT safety administration.

A weakly built seat/rails will brake in an auto accident thus leaving you with no support in an accident.

Take this for example, would you ride in your car sitting on a 5 gallon bucket?

My problem with the seats are, you can buy real USDM itr seats for ~$500-800
