Anyone go with NON-OEM parts for there civic 99-00 conversion ???
Pro and cons ?
Im only keeping the car for another year and i've been looking for the OEM parts threw forums, sites, etc. There either to expensive which doesn't make it worth it.
So I found a spot that has all the parts for $480. It's project JDM on queens blvd in NY. It may not be the best price but it's the best I could find locally.
-Hood
-Fenders
-Bumper
-Lip
-black housing lights

i dont have a 99-00 converson but i have aftermarket, hood, bumper, its junk and had to modify the **** out of my head lights, and cut part of my bumper to even fit decently.
some people charge a lot more then others, for example thers a guy on craigslist selling a fenders, lights ebay lights, fog lights and lip for 750 and says hes frim, and wants 400 more for he hood and bumper, which all needs to be repainted, last night i found a guy selling everything but coresupport for 450.
oem will always be better then aftermarket, my bet is there selling certafit which never fits or ebay parts.

Jobber body parts are a con!
- poor fitment, defeats the point of owning a Honda
- hood weights more than oem, they are heavy
- more prone to rust

those parts arent oem. dont do it unless you can get oem parts. only one more year why even do it at all. its a waste. just spend the money on maintaining the car.

Those prices are certainly aftermarket, people will try to sell them as "dealer certified" but they're POS Korean/Taiwan made replica poorly fitting crap.
Don't do it unless you like body line gaps!

Just go to a dealership, and get a quote. Talk to them, they may give you a small discount ~5%. OEM parts aren't really THAT expensive.

At list, perhaps.
I paid less than $500 for the entire front & a rear bumper from the dealer, BNIB, but my friend is no longer there.

I'd strongly suggest just putting the $, that you'd spend on the conversion, into your bank account and using it towards your next car.
