Just wondering if anyone try to get a B18 into the back of an EG to transport it? I took some measurements and it looked like it would fit, but would be tight. I'm thinking of keeping the tranny on and just lowering the seats. Has anyone out there attempted this before? There is no chance to get a truck for transport, distance is to great.

Well i put a full d16 swap in the back of my eg once. It was rough but it worked. Make sure you either protect or remove your interior panels cause they will get banged up bad if you don't.

it will fit fine if you take off the tranny...put the tranny in the trunk or where the rear seats are, take out the front seat and put the longblock there

I have transported the whole thing in the trunk of my hatch before. Is yours a hatch or coupe?

I've got Hatchie! That's the whole reason I mentioned it was EG (1995) .... I was thinking of laying down a piece of of plywood for strength, then plastic to catch any oil and fluid, and old towels to catch any spot it might rub against sides etc.... From the research I've done looks like a total swap with engine an trannie would only weighs 420 lbs (not enough to effect and lowered car I hope). Would be much easier to remove the trannie 75lbs, and then the long block would be 345lbs. Much easier to man handle that way. Only problem is I'm picking it up from a shop so not sure if they would separate the trannie from the long-block for me (or if I would even want them doing that).

looks like its gona be hard as hell to get out of there...ive seen some pics of the longblock where the passenger seat is. but my friend braught a b16 about 4 hours of highway by sitting the motor's oil pan into the spare tire well and strapping it down

First how in the hell are you gonna get that out of there? And second, was there any oil in the motor when you laid it down on it's side?

Same way me and my buddy got it in. Brute force. We aren't office bitches who are scared to get a little dirty or have to lift something heavy. And the motor ran great.
All the fluids were drained.

you can do it just make sure you have cover or something under the motor. also try to secure the motor, make sure it doesn't move.

lol i had a complete itr swap in my trunk wit the tranny still attached, i will never do that ever again. it left alot of dents..

Take out the passenger seat and put the motor there. Done 3 motors like that.

i did it with a B16. but in my EK.

I got a b16 longblock in my hatch right now actaully. Fit ok with some help lifting it in. No trans on the motor though so i am not sure how well that would fit

nice, how was that to drive? I am worried about driving my car now with just the b16 long block resting in the "trunk' area. scared its gonna tip and cause some damage
