Anyone driven the new Si??
How does the '02+ Si drive? From what Sport Compact Car said, it sounds like it moved down a notch from the 99-00 si...I heard the tires are shittier than they should be...

The 02 SI is very civilized compared to past SIs. It is a decent car but does not feel very sporty but I am used to my loud 00 SI and my roommates even louder ITR.
Rumor has it that Honda might put the 200 hp engine in the 04 SI. That would make it a much better car.

stock tires are horrible they start squealing at when you barely start pushing it.. Car feels very rigid as opposed to the previous model Civics, but the car feels a lot bulkier than it looks. Suspension is nice and tight. I think it has potential.

That new Accord looks bad *** ( Sport Compact Car Feb, 2003 page 36.)
Available in Japan only, it's powered by either a 2.0L DOHC i-VTEC (153hp) or a 2.4L DOHC i-VTEC ( 200hp ) engine. Both have 5 speed automatic, but the Euro R edition has 6 speed manual. The sedan and wagon have an option for all wheel drive
The article says that it should be expected to come here in 2004 under the acura badge and called the TSX. Would fit in between the RSX coupe and theTL sedan most likely, and may be powered by a 3.0L V6 in addition to the 2.4L in Japan.
No one know if the all wheel drive will make it here as well though

stock its horrible.
Slap the CTR bumpers/lip kit onto it, drop it and give it a nice wheel/rubber combo....mmmm mmm good.
A nice rev limit increase from Hondata wouldnt hurt either.

Out here in L.A. I saw Dr. Charles of Area 51 fabing and installing a turbo kit on a new Si. Wonder how it did on the dyno. That guy has talent, so I wouldn't doubt that thing pulled some good power.

Re: Anyone driven the new Si?? (Viorent GRIP!)
Steering wheel-
Seats-
Damn near everything else-
I test drove one, and quite frankly, I was dissapointed. If I hadn't seen the little red on the steering wheel, I never would have known it was a Honda, much less an Si...
The suspension was tight, but the tires suck. It felt like it had a little more torque down low, but this didn't nearly compensate for the fact that it seemed to be underpowered IMO. All the bling bling interior pieces were there, the leather wrapped wheel, red stitching, etc, but if it weren't for that, I would have had a hard time knowing I wasn't driving some hatchback version of my mom's 98 Altima .
NOTE TO HONDA: GIVE US THE TYPE R!!!!!

Re: Anyone driven the new Si?? (Sleeping4drLS)
It has potential but in stock form the only thing I like about it are the seats. The chassis is nice though and it apears that the new suspension design won't be the huge drawback everyone thought it would be but again, in stock form it sucks. I might considder buying a uesd on in a few years as a project car (RSX Type S engine anyone?) but no way I would buy one new.

Re: Anyone driven the new Si?? (SlowSOHC)
My friend has one and he lets me drive it all the time I think its a good car but there right about the stock tires because i can catch it in 3rd once in a while. He put H@R springs on it and it doesn't ride two bad.

i drove a friend's Si that had an intake on it. it has torque and the seats feel good. but you won't see me trading the EH for one.

They'll have to pry the steering wheel from my cold dead fingers to get me to part with my EG. I just love that car.

Re: Anyone driven the new Si?? (grenthang)
Never driven one and never will unless someone hands me one on a plate.....
It not the lightest of cars out there.....
It would be a good TANK if Honda started producing tanks for the army!!

Acura TSX pics

The side pic reminds me of a Mustang, the front a Solara, and the back a RSX/Civic. Looks pretty damn good.

Honda is going down the hole. Every other car maker makes a better sport compact. If Honda doesn't bring the CTR/ITR or equivalent to the U.S., then say good bye to Honda's sports market.
WRX, SVT Focus, Nissan Sentra Spec V, Lancer EVO, Mini, VW GTI, Mazdaspeed, Dodge SRT-4.
Even the Hyundai Tiberon is a better car!
What a shame.
