Any recommendations for a tachometer and/or shift light???
I am looking for a tachometer with shift light to put in my 2000 Honda Civic si. I have a Zex wet nitrous setup and I don't want to screw anything up so I need a tach and shift light ASAP! I've looked at Autometer, Defi, Stewart Warner, etc... and am just confused because they have so freakin many. My ideal setup would be a 3 1/8" tach with shift light attached, and a black face with illumination.
First of all, where is the best place to mount a tach?
Second, would you guys recommend getting a tach with a shift light, or just a shift light?
Third, are there any tachs you would suggest or recommend?
Thanks in advance!

why not just get a shift light and RPM Switch. If you wanna shift at 8000 then get a 7800 RPM pill. and you dont have to worry about watching a tach. just keep your eyes focused on the road or track and wait for that lovely yellow light

Re: (JDMlyfestyle)
My friend suggested that I get a tach, he has one of those 5 inch autometer tachs with shift light, but I think that thing is way too big for my or any car. I like the shift light only idea...thanks!

Re: (JDMlyfestyle)
I had a monster tach in my car at one point from autometer with a shift light, I thought it worked nice but I eventually took it out because I dident like the way it looked and drew to much attention to my car. I also dident like how it blocked my view from the windshield cause of its size, other then that I have no complaints, If you get a smaller one like you said I would get say a gauge pod for your A-piller and mount it there, or get a shift light on its own, with a rpm switch, You wont be watching the tach so much as waiting for the light, just make sure it dosent shine directly at you while your driving cause at night its a bitch and blinds you.

I have a sweet set up in my 00 ek with ITR swap. The shift light is behind my heater control vent on the left side of the car. It is a black unit with red light about 1inch in size. When I dont want it so bright at night I close the vent. The heater control is from a CTR and the whole set up gets me a lot of compliments for being clean and I like that it is hidden. I will post a pic of it if interested.

You are right, gauges draw much attention! Maybe one of those little quick-lite shift lights by autometer will do the trick. Thanks for the info!
