Default Any lips available to increase downforce?

Are there any lips that helps with downforce or aerodynamics or they all just made for looks? I know splitters help some. but I am curious about front lips.

Unless you're pushing some serious speeds there would really be no way of measuring the measly amount of downforce a lip would give you.

big-*** wings from the old ricer days don't help with downforce. i think that'd be the same with lips.

if there was any downforce, it'd be by the time you hit vtec at 5th gear

Downforce is only a factor on cars going 100+ mph. From 20-100 or so mph, its aerodynamic drag that you need to worry about

They're all made for looks and for scraping driveways

I dunno...if you can stop the air going under the car at high speeds, or atleast reduce it, there will be less lift...

I noticed a difference in how my car drove when I put mine on, not in a performance manner, just overall. Probably because of the increased drag.

Actually I agree that I notice a difference cruizing on the freeway with an OEM lip on my car. Being lowered helps. But in my opinion, I think its better for an economic and aesthetic sense, doing more to reduce drag than create downforce

by simply puttin a lip on your car will not reduce downforce, theres a lot behind getting a proper downforce besides bolting a lip up, its critical to have an underspoiler to reduce drap and proper ductin to create a unique windflow to your car. putting on a lip will just add some stile points

roll your car downhill is the fastest way to increase your downforce power.

I actually wanted to make a homeade one here is my inspiration

I wanted to make teh front version of that, but obviously have no means to test it if I were to make it.

If your car dont go pass 100mph aerodynamic is not working,
people cut holes on the rear bumper to release air flows and so it dont drag but if your car is not fast it is not working.
I would suggest putting the money toward power not look.
Power=better accleration, faster

^ Boostage That's pretty cool you actually did that

I hope you don't drive fast enough to actually make use of it

the whole reason for areodynamics (bodykits, lips, spoilers, canards, splitter) are for makin the car as sleek as possible so there is minimal wind reduction while driving. i unerstand that some may be for asthetics, but there are som that are actually functional. it is not neccesary to travel 100mph to have downforce!!! with a proper setup down force can be created at lower speeds and as you pick up speed more force will be applied. keep in mind that when driving at cruising speeds, nice aerodynamics can increase gas milage, and overall functioning while you drive, you dont have to be doin a 100mpp. also improper setup can cuz dismay while driving

making more HP number is better than putting a bodykit or a wing on a car.
If you look at many old heavy muscle car they dont have big wing and bodykits but what they have is big HP number and that moves the car.
I am not saying bodykit is bad but I was just suggest putting the money where it make the car go faster before you putting money into the aerodynamic.

If you want downforce, look at a Saleen S7. At 160 something mph, u can drive upside down there is so much downforce. So just look how the wing and the "lip" in the front is like.
