my civics always idled lower than most, causing a rattle/vibration sometimes at idle.

i just remembered the guy that installed my intake lowered hte idle speed because it idled too high after installation.


anyway i can raise it?

how can it idle to high just by installing a intake? you can adjust it by opening and closing the flat head screw that is on the throttle body. close to lower idle, open to raise idle.

What if that screws messed up? For some reason on my ITR TB the "screw" is like welded so I can't adjust it that way...

And I don't like messing with the throttle cable b/c it always ends up being chaos

i know what you mean about the cable, it's hell. those are the only 2 way i know of. but when you say welded on, is it literally welded or is there some type of seal. i picked up a gsr throttle body so i can bore it out and on the idle screw there was some type of gray seal all over the screw(like a paint or sealent). it was hell to break it free though.

yeah that sounds like the same thing. I tried to break it free a bunch of times but it just won't go... any secret methods?

well, it wasn't on the engine when i broke it free, but i just took a flat head screwdriver (one with a grip handle, made it easier), applied some pressure and slowly turned it. i know it's alittle harder when the T/B is on the manifold.
