Default anti-teft strategy possibility?

I was thinking, if you had to park your car outside of your house everday, what if you: chained your car (tow hooks, or control arms) to an achor (cemented to the ground) or something that cannot be moved easily, maybe another car? how would a thief beat this?

Cut the chain, rip your lower control arm off, or rip your tow hook off. I thought about this many of times but it would be horrible on your car if someone decided to be an *** and just floor it.................

Since auto theft in california is big, this is what I'll do if I live up there...

1) Get an alarm ( have 3 sirens, one on the engine bay, and 2 inside each fender)

2) Turn your steering wheel all the way to the left or right and lock it there, then get an Detachable steering wheel

3)remove my fuse and ecu

4) relocate my battery

5)pedal lock

....I'm tired of logging into H-T and find out that the first thread I read about is another stolen honda and mostly from Cali

removable steering wheel
Alarm w/gps
remove ecu

They would have to tow it and store it in a metal container to not get caught.

This is what I do....

1) pager alarm
2) keep the car in a garage-if possible
3) couple of kill switches
4) and marry someone who's a light sleeper so when the pager goes off she'll hear it.

-fuel pump kill switch
-autolock
-club
-disconnected door locks (must break window to get in/out, makes it almost impossible to take apart the lower panel to access the brain with the doors closed and locked)
-alarm with pager
-hood locks are good too.

Yes but it should deter most thieves.

Most the thefts in Colorado are tow jobs.

It simply takes two much time to actually drive the car to steal it. With all the cut off switches, removable steering wheels, etc. what a pain in the ***.

Take a flat bed and it doesn't matter if it has a steering wheel. Or the wheels are turned. etc.

yep, something is better than nothing IMO, the longer it takes a thief to bypass these theft DETERRENTS, the better chance you have of them saying f_ck it, on to the next car...

I dont think it deters them at all... 90% of these theives know tow shops or own their own damn tow truck.

How would towing a car take so long??? My buddies Type R was towed from his own garage... it doesnt deter nothing.. alarms,. and clubs and all that nonsens just takes money out of your pocket.

well if it's to the point where someone takes the time to get a tow truck to tow your ****, then yeah, these deterrents would do nothing for you. that just means the thief/thieves planned: did thier research, watched your routes/daily routine, and just waited for the perfect time to get your car, sorry for ya...

if i can prevent someone from stealing my car while i'm at the grocery store, the mall. or whatever random place i'm at, then yeah, the detachable wheel hub, alarm, and kill switches are well worth my time and money spent. If someone is following me around with a tow truck, then i guess i'm screwed then...i've had friends that have had thier cars broken into and towed. it sucks, but if it gives an indvidual a peace of mind, than to each his own...

having absolutely no deterrents whatsover is basically like handing the thieves a key to your car, just take it then, i don't give a **** about my investment/pride and joy anyways....

Why is that?

Also has anyone considered security cameras? They are getting cheaper and cheaper. At least when some fuckface steals your **** you have them and their license plates on tape. Which means they will be easier to track down to bring them to justice! If you have them on camera they are fucked!

you'll only need that when the police harasses you. ah

anyway, good methods listed above. most typical car jackers do not have tow trucks, & if they do your car is gone. after i seen the special about Ferraris, Porsches, and other high end cars being stolen. haha. just park next to a more Enticing vehicle.

As its been said, do all you can do cause some deterrent is better than none. My top pics:
-Fuel pump kill switch, wires for fuel pump ran under vehicle (loomed of course)
-Alarm w/pager/gps....gps is getting less expensive
-Wheel w/ detachable hub
-I also removed my hood cable completely and used a trunk pop solenoid as a hood pop. There is a hidden switch in the car, and my alarm controls it too.
-a prayer cause if they want it bad enough they'll get it......I can see/hear my car at all times at my apt, but if I'm out hopefully one of those things will save my ***!
